Do You Support Your Leader?

This week the people of Blyth heard what the leader of their Community Lib/Dem Councillor Jeff Reid believes about his home town when he called it "a dump".

He has had a tough stretch over the last five years, major cuts have been made to the budgets of the County Council and Jeff poor soul has had to make some very tough decisions. Those decisions included the choice of where to spend £400,000 on regeneration issues. He could have courted his home town and kickstarted an improvement scheme to help the commercial traders upgrade, but instead he chose to spend that £400,000 on a fish pass at Hedgleyburn to help the trout.
Northumberland has one of the longest county coastlines in Britain and its fishing fleet are tied up a lot of the year but Jeff chose the wealthy fly fishermen above the Real Fishermen of his home town.

The people of Blyth now need to know if the other Northumberland Liberal Democrats follow his line and support his views or should they should disassociate themselves from him?

Northumberland Labour Group Leader Grant Davey said;" Jeff Reid the Liberal Democrat Leader has not shown any respect for the people of Blyth, We demand to know what his colleagues think on this subject and will be pressing them to come clean and voice their true opinions, they must now make the easy choice, support a man who has let down his constituents or reject him and show the people of Blyth that their not all like he is".
